Above all never shortcut the quaranteen period and you Bichirs should suffer no ill effects from live.

I totally agree with you on that one, my friend that feeds live always gives me crap for holding them for a week but I keep telling him look at my tank, never once in the time I have been feeding them live have I ever had a problem and you go to petco and just dump them in and are fighting ich once a month or so. I even offered him my spare 29G for a feeder holding tank and he said nope,your just crazy...hahahaha

I have alot of luck with market shrimp. Cut to size of your bichers mouth and drop or put in front of them, as of their bad eye sight. as far as pellets your gona have to see if it likes it or not. Hikari carnivore have worked for me after bichir was starve a little. shy bichirs will be more active at night and eat at night. I had a ornate and I never seen it eat once and it out grew My albino bichir haha. it was eatting leftover pellets from my Oscar. Best of luck
