I think something that monitors in real time and can alert emergency services in the event of a crash would be good - maybe then I wouldn't have been at the side of the road for 3 hours with potential internal organ damage and a broken back in near freezing conditions.... but that's just me...

These are real workd numbers. Do not use conjecture.

As for drinking, that number is around 3000 deaths a year.

Do not drink the kool aid.
 
Its just shows the telemetry of the vehicle making it much easier for insurance companies to litigate blame!

All fuel injected cars have an ECU which manages fuel/air/speed etc so the car has always had a type of 'black box' but only now it records the data. Its basically what that progressive insurance company offers, the snapshot thing.

For those saying about cell phone use, ask yourself this. Why would the gov pass a law, that in some areas generate substantial income, that would still allow you to use a hands free cell phone device despite multiple studies, many of which came BEFORE the laws, that state hands free is not safer? Give ya a hint, $.
