I am not intending to start a RTC or other monster catfish debate.
I am building a 225 gal tank. The more I learn about catfish the more I enjoy them. I have been doing a lot of reading and I have come across several breeds that Wikipedia and other sources (I am skeptical of Internet sources) say get about 18 to 24 inches long. Without having any experience in either tanks over 100 gallons and big fish. I would rather select big catfish based your experiences and knowledge. The catfish will be living with a silver arowana, a clown knifefish, a giraffe catfish and a few big cichlids. I also have two iridescent sharks that are scheduled to go into that tank but I have read that they need really big tanks because they love to swim. Their behavior in my 55 gallon confirms that, these guys don't stop (right now they are about 4 inches long).
Any suggestions on a fat lazy catfish that does not exceed 24 inches (that is the size that I feel is adequate for a tank that is 3' x 5' x 2' high).
Thanks in advance.
