Big Catfish Sugestions.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
go for a marble pim. they dont get too overly big - nice patterned skin and super cute long whiskers. good luck

gulper cat would be ok as well. though as the name suggests they 'gulp' tank mates ^^

haha yeah at my lfs they are only $5 they are so cute tho i wish i had a huge pod i would get a bunch of them its sad that since they are so cheap alot of people will be buying them and not giving them proper homes glad your not doing that i would go with channel or bullhead good luck

Wow, 5.00 a piece plus the fact that they are simple irresistable can lead to a lot of irresponsible buyers. I am glad that they are little more pricey here, helps keep the temptation down. I have to admit, that with respect to coloration, shape and body type it is easily one of my favorite catfish.

Also, I am going to look into the two-spot or twin spot, thanks!

Very nice catfish. I am going to research over the next couple of days. Thanks. BTW, beautiful RTC's in you avatar.

Rip Saw/niger's are not the fastest growing fishes but they would be great along with the megalodoras or granulosus. All great cats and exotic. But all cats listed above are also great. Bullhead, Tig, jur, sun, you can even try the hi fin cats, the giraffee is ok too. THe gulpers cool but lazy and if might eat the your other tankmates. The Bumble Jau is ok too.

Since my last posted I have obtained a blue channel cat and yes....I broke down and got a RTC. The blue channel was swimming crazy in the tank and I was drawn to it so I added it to an order I was picking and the RTC was given to my LFS operator who got tired of seeing me stare at it every single time walked into the shop.

I am still going to add a trigrinus, a ripsaw and synodontis ocellifer. I am in the process of obtaining starting my own LFS (and web-based shop) so I slowing down my buying until all my paperwork comes in and I can buy wholesale.

I agree with taksan, you already made a big mistake in getting the rtc. Its very easy to make an impulse buy but what are you gonna do with with a cat that can easily get 3+ foot and live for 20 years
