Well first off, I know better not to dump a fish in the water, esp. one such as a clown loach, as they are more delicate than most on this. This is why you drip over and slowly, esp. with clown loaches, as sudden changes in water conditions can be fatal. Anyhow, I was not at home at the time, and the person who was decided it looked uncomfortable in the bag, and dumped in it. Whatever, they didn't know any better, no use crying over spilt milk. Needless to say when I got home from work, the fish was pretty much fried, and after two days of rapid breathing, passed away, reguardless of all my efforts :( However by posting this, I hope to make it an example, so others don't repeat. So when in doubt, acclimate, it is not worth the risk.
Heres a few pics of the guy, to show that yes, suddenly changing water conditions can take out even the big boys.

Oh man, I'd be sick as I'm sure you were. I hunted for 8 months at every shop I passed and finally found 3 that size (4 months ago). I was so scared I'd lose them since it took me so long to find them. That would be just heartbreaking to lose one that size.

wow, sorry about your loss i looked for big ones in my area but had to settle for 7 tiny ones, if i lost one like that... well lets just say id be crying
