american akita, and yes they are very dommiant towards other dogs.

maybe you might of had a dominate am akita but as a rule no am bloodline akitas are NOT seen as dominate in the sense i mean... Presa's particularly a male will want to own you and rest of the family to... You do understand what this breed is breed for? the traits that have been breed in not out and that all presa come from those lines... no soft presa's exist... you'll be pulling it to the floor with a pinch collar every time you have to give it a correction or it wont feel a thing and just think you are playing... a SOFT presa is some where around a very hard am bandogge in temperament...

I love Presa's just they are same a CO's owners need to be aware of what they are buying and comparing it to a am akita is just wrong... (yet again this is with experience around native bloodline Presa not american but they have only been in the usa for a few years and doubt they have tamed much or been breed in that way still...)

Catherine sent me these great links in my pic thread so here we go:

erm,

this an international yahoo group for discussing and learning about prey model raw. they have a page on FB too, but the girls that moderate the FB page are kinda funny.

this is Tom Londsdale's site, he is an Australian Vet and he wrote a couple very informational books about raw feeding. the site has changed some, more info to get without buying the books.

Oh wow! I know this is an old thread, but OP! You had an OVCHARKA! omg! That is my dream dog :) (I want to retire in my early 40s and become a CO breeder haha, thats how much I love COs). I haven't read all the pages on this thread, yet (got way to excited reading CO!) but how did you train him / her...? Some tips would greatly be appreciated... I currently have a year old king shepherd who is 30" at the shoulder and weighs in at 105 pounds (I say white german shepherd for most people cause I got tired of explaining what a king shepherd is) and oh boy he is intense! But on a scale of 1 - CO I think he is at a decent 45 :P. A monster fish keeper and a CO owner! bro! you are my new hero! Here is a picture of my shepherd:

Hi guys and gals,
any recommendations for flea control? My girl is just about 2 years old. I should also mention she is pitt mix, so shes not really a large breed dog, and she has a beautiful short coat, not sure
if that matters either.

In the UK there are quite a few that can be bought off the shelf in pet stores or supermarkets etc that can make your dog seriously sick , im not sure if its a reaction from certain dogs or a dose issue , all I can say is use a prescribed one from your chosen vet , swifts is called stronghold it does some worms also

Thanks for that advice Evz! I didn't even think to ask for a prescription, I was thinking over the counter, I also was thinking of how safe the treatment would be for my gf and I, being the dog will spend time indoors with us, gotta make sure it's safe for everyone but the fleas, .... and worms? I didn't realize 1 treatment could do both. Thanks man :D
