Cool, Do let me know what you think of the link(s). This way I know im on the right track haha

I started seeing the support for J on everyones Avatar but started getting confused w/the same avatar everywhere. So I just added it so I don't get confused w/my own stuff haha.

Thanks for the Link, ill read it in a bit :)

i will definitly let you know my thoughts.. but i can tell you now..your on the right track..

West still finding more and more goodness from your links u legend! that link i posted hasn't got much to read its just a store but thought i could show you what i know is available in the uk and it mite help you narrow your goggle searching a piece...

& again on a side note: yeah that was totally my point, plus i wanted it to have a personal touch as such, well u see... Joey was team awesome if nothing else he deserve it not to mention constantly being almost solely responsible for my cichla love. If there wasn't the hole land mass east to west of the USA and the Atlantic ocean stoping me i'd of been there sat. Joey means to me and cichla what you do to me and gatf i cant think of those fish with out thinking of either of you too... standards...

heres a vid from walkies tonight with just Bear...

Yeah J is a legend on MFK and will likely always be (myself, never!! You... always especially when you post the tankmates I can only DREAM OF:irked:). I think of R1 and I picture his Cichla Intermedia and his old "West Coast" on her rear Avatar Lol. Right now all the family needs is support... if it be blood or prayers, its all support. The family knows about MFK and reads the threads as a guest user. Trust me... they are overwhelmed by the support (positively) and very greatful (just going off of my opinion based on their reactions and comments).

As for the link w/links, this thread got my attention real quick so thanks to you guys!! Last night was the first feeding of bolied Chicken. It was funny at first because Snoopy (our Min Pin) licked the raw chicken bone and walked away. My older daughter hit the corner in the kitchen and out of the blue Snoopy sprints to the Bone and takes off and devoured the bone. After he ate boiled chicken up and no signs of the "runs" so far :)

Disclaimer
While there are lots of people on Dogster that have been feeding raw for a long time and are more than willing to help out, the raw diet takes significant research and independent reading. Dogster should not be your sole source of information. The raw diet is not a one-size-fits-all scenario with a step by step guide to perfect success for your dog. Continued thought and use of logic are essential to make raw be the best that it can be for your individual dog.

We are all beginners in the raw world at some point. We didn't just get our dog and automatically know how to feed raw. It's a learning process that continues much longer than the first day, week, or month on the diet. And chances are, we all asked the same questions when we were considering starting!

So I'm going to put this thread together so that other raw-curious members have a sort of encyclopedia of FAQs to fall back on.

Below are some links to some of the more helpful threads that have been started here on Dogster. Feel free to add your own links to threads that you found particularly useful as well as outside links to other raw feeding sites.

Summer's Prey Model Guidelines. A wonderful summary of the Prey Model diet.

Raw Chicken. This one is a long one but covers just about everything you need to know about getting started in raw.

Specific Tips for New Raw Feeders.

Thinking About Switching to Raw, Yet Scared.

List Your Raw Foods. This one gives ideas of the actual meats and cuts that people feed in a raw diet.

Personal Raw Feeding Guide. An ingenious spreadsheet that will calculate amounts to feed and nutrient requirements for your dog.

What Mistakes Did You Make Starting Out?. Mistakes that current raw feeders made when they were beginning to feed the raw diet and the solutions for avoiding the same issues.

Show me what you eat. A really fun thread with pictures of Dogsters enjoying their favorite meals.

Raw for dogs with allergies. No, raw is not a miracle cure, but it can really help with serious food allergies.

I will attempt to update this post every few months to include new resources that we find particularly useful. Though there may be some conversation in this thread, it is mostly comprised of "BUMP" posts to keep the thread current. I have taken links or resources listed later in this thread and added them to this post.

i like all the different books..i cannot believe they list books that cover almost every subject you can think of.. the first link was good too.. lots of info in it..

true Liz its not the ferociousness of these breeds that attracts me at all, i just have a thing for huge dogs and like everything rare breeds interest me.

and what you say about the pics, the Banhar are called lion dogs in the native land and i believe the pics are taken to make them look as mean and lion like as possible, none of those dogs look like they've had a real fight. certainly thats not what the pics depict jus trying to imply that but like all big mastiff breeds they are very dominant and in the wrong hands a accident going somewhere to happen.

the only dog with a true fighting heritage id own is on the list above, the kurdish kangal. simply put they are size of a CO with the drive of a Mal and the look of a Antilian (?spelling?) shepherd on steroids... but again it is its capabilities and looks that attract me not the ferociousness that some idiots seem determined to be obsessed with.

Im not saying that i dont see these dogs as home protection lol far from it. its just not my priority... My dogs will only be trained for work there temperament and personality makes them suitable for. if they make the grade for bite-work and schutzhund or PD working stakes they will get trained in it, if not they dont at all... im not looking to have animals taht i cant control or are a danger to anyone. we have stupid laws, stupid gun laws and stupid home protection laws... but u still get away with ur big freaking dog castrating a burglar... thank god we have that still at least... Come for my aros will ya...

Lol i have soft spot for chows, if a GF ever demands sumint smallish and cute they will get a short list of blue chow or shiba inu :headbang2
do u remember this guy Liz, my friends Shiba! the main reason id have a Shiba is this guy...

its great to hear snoopy is doing well with it! like liz says boiling is pretty good like that, its probably because 60 degrees c for 15mins kills nearly absolutely every bug and bacteria i believe? glad this thread turning into a positive thing... there is so much info out there and its good to have more than one head scanning through all the info. Thing is no matter what our individual approach we all have our pets best interests at heart.
