Most all of the out of tank measurements I've ever seen have all been in Datnoid threads. Other than that, I don't think I've actually seen any other type of fishes measured like that alive, actually.

I guess, from your observations, that only datnoid memebers own rulers?

Take a piece of pvc pipe and cut it close to the estimated length of the fish. Put it in the tank, this will give you an in tank visual reference and you see how close your guesstimate is.

thats cause dats dont move at all when taking out of the water. all the ones ive owned just freeze up LOL.

i dont think that will work with a large thrashing cichlid :)

I already measured him, not too big a fuss, btw he is "only" about 15 inches long. But fat. It seems fish are smaller than our "eyeball measurements".

I cant understand how you get your Dovii so large on just crap Massivore. :screwy:

Jk, Nice looking fish man. That sucker is fat.

Not as acurate as pulling them out, but I have a permanant ruler on one side of the tank, when the fish stop there---instant measurement.
