ok, the environmentalist in me is going to step up to the podium.

You want to put a wild fish in with arowana, pacu and others, let it grow for a while and put it back.

This is illegal in all 50 states, and it needs to be.

You have no idea what parasites and symbiotic organisms the pacu and arowana are housing. Once the LMB has been exposed to those, he is unreleasable. This is how ecosystems get wiped out. This is irresponsibility on a grand scale. And its why the federal government is threatening to ban all non native fish in the pet trade.

Entire ecosystems will be exposed to the non naive parasites and symbionts, our native fish have no immune system or other defenses against these unseen microbes. And these microbes lack natural predators in our ecosystems.

Please take a moment to think about just how irresponsible you are planning to be.

Wild fish belong in the wild.

Keep in mind that LMB are a game fish and keeping one (even alive in a tank) that is smaller than the minimum size requirements is against the law unless you have a permit. In Texas, LMB are required to be 14 inches.

^ Finally someone has step up and say something. Once your bass has exposed to your pacu and other tropical fish, it is unreleaseable fish.

I know Europe has problems with invasive minnows from Asia. That minnow called Topmouth Gudgeon or Clicker Barb, which was import for aquarium purposes and this minnow carried dieases that European minnows do not have immune to and it is serious invasive species in Europe.

I have 2 large mouth bass that i had to move out to my pond.. in my case they wil;l become competitive for food and aggressive. i was not able to keep bass with my other fish they dominate the tank. ate one of my waleyes that was only an inch or so smaller he spit it out after it died becuse it was to big to swallow. do what ya like but im warning you it may become a burdon once its compfy and starts to eat..

KDRUN76 has a fantastic point though.. my bass were purchased from a licenced dealer and are in my private pond. lets be carefull we dont mess things up for future keepers with out selFISHness lol and let the bass go home or destroy it if it has been exposed to tropicals. not to mention breaking state laws in not cool..
