i heard they are like peta and just kill them after a week of holding..

That's so totally not true! That guy at MonsterFishRescue spends his own money, time & resources to help those fish. What would he gain by killing them a week later? Why take then in at all if he were going to kill them. He's got a lot of friends on this forum and most the others. That's just wrong to say.

I think a lot of people end up buying them because they are the size of a quarter at wal-mart and nobody there knows or cares how big they will grow. That's how my parents ended up with one. Luckily I found someone to take him recently.

ever since i found out what humane societies REALLY do to animals in need, ive been forever cautious about any domestic pet organization that affiliate themselves with the word "Rescue". Hence i never started the sentence with "They". He sounds like a proud man and if he is good im sure he doesn't need to prove anything.

i've said nothing mean or wrong. modesty is key to peace. don't let pride of self or another be the trigger to your guns, my friend.

#2, it's not "they", it's just a "him" (he is in no shape or form ANYTHING like a humane society)

He has a 1500+ gallon setup that is devoted to bringing in fish that other people don't want/can't keep etc. P.S., he's going through a rough patch like almost all of us are right now and is trying to relocate some of his fish, it shows what kind of character the guy has to take in another fish when he's trying to downsize.

and shows what kind of character you have by flaming the guy just because he uses the word "rescue".

by the sounds of it guys i think he was just having a little joke (even if it wasn't that funny). We all know that MFR is an absolute gift, and its a shame that we don't have something similar over here in england.
