I built this pond for a cousin and his wife. It was a kit pond. You order everything from one place and they send a filter, skimmer, liner, underlayment. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get pics of it running with plants and fish but my cousin was not very nice to me after I was done. I think he wanted a concrete pond and his wife wanted this pond. I got all of the rock locally at a landscape rock company. It's called apache mountain rip-rap. Even in full Arizona sun these ponds hardly get any algae and the fish and plants do great. The skimmer keeps all of the junk out of the pond and the filter at the top is full of lava rock for biological. Actually when you pull the lava rock every year to clean it these huge copods are everywhere. I usually save them for my indoor fish that go nuts. The plants grow right in the gravel and they get big and healthy. You have pull them out every year or they will take over the pond. If any1 is in the Tucson area ever wants to set one up I'd love to help. Here are the pics from beg. to end.
The big things I would change are to use bigger rocks and maybe have more level changing in the stream. Other than that I was very happy with it. If My cousin and I ever get along again I may have updated pictures with fish and plants.
