big swimbaits

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I paid about $30 for all the swimbaits I showed in the first picture except for the 2nd one, that one was pretty cheap.. The left pic is the new castaic swimbait that just came out, i ordered a 6" in blue shad..the other is a lucky swimbait that I want but they only offer floaters

post up your swimbait rod/reel and line setups guys.. This is mine

rod- st croix premier musky 7' heavy
reel- shimano corvalus 300, upgrading to the calcutta te this summer
line- 65# suffix pro braid w/ 80# mono leader

I ordered the same one in slow sink for this summer, from what I read the silver fish works better than the trout.. I also ordered a 6" castaic rock hard swimbait that just came out althought its back ordered for a few weeks.

I'm going to use my Bass Pro Graphite series rod, 7' heavy action with Shimano Corsair reel. Was thinking of using 25 lb mono with a 30-40lb leader. I've never used braid but may consider with this set up. 99% of my striper fishing is in a river, so no problem with blues.

I love braid and the only kind I would recommend is suffix performance, I bet if you give it a try you wont be dissapointed.. I almost wana get a longer rod to chuck those big baits but oh well ill hafta stick w/ 7' too.

I use swimbaits most of the time. You give me a cloudy day or windy or even better at night. This will be the only bait I throw.

Swim baits work fine in the north. Just need to kno the right times to use them.

Hey hemp do not waste your money on that lucky craft one. It is bad and not worth it. Swims like crap and sometimes they just break a part with out even getting any fish on it.
Check out this review and you will see what I mean.

Yeh i saw that article but the Luckys I was lookin at were the 130 premium not the 200, here check this out http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast06lurespg4.html.. The paint job on them look pretty badass tho, other than that I dont need another wake bait..

How do those rubber baits work out for you tho, I was always lookin at em but i never went for the buy

Yea the other one is just the same tho. My buddy had it and It was just as bad.
Those mattlure perch is a good swim bait. Ive gotten one 5lber. I really do not throw it that much but it is not a bad bait at all. My buddy throws it alot and he does very very well. try more of the big top water swimbaits. Just throw them on a really cloudy day next to weed lines you should do very well.

I usually do my fishing during the summer wen the suns pounding so im not always catchin top water.. anyways how bout some of those ct spots lol

You can tell what ones have caught me fish :naughty: Only reason the other have not caught fish yet is because I have not thrown them.
