big tank build need advice

hmmmmm, ok, I just can't find any place that sells a single large sheet of glass at the right size and the right thickness and right type, also, where'd you get your panel from? you said CL, but what is that

Your local autoglass companies should have it or be able to order it for you. You will want tempered for safety. You can also buy shorter panels and silicone them together front and back with other narrow panels and place a post at the seam on the outside.

CL = Craigslist

oh, I wasn't aware they'd do that just for you specifically, the problem then however is getting it to where you need it to be.

You will need either a machinery or, if it is liftable by hand, as many able bodied men as needed. You might need both.

I think it will no problems having the company deliver tha glass to your house. At least here in sweden its no problem at all. I order glass from either denmark, germany or poland and get it delivered by the company. You will have to pay for that service but its worth it. And if you plan to build a big tank then just go up one size on thickness. Depending on your dimensions i would build either in 12 or 15mm. You can build 70cm high with proper bracing in 12mm glas upp to 100cm with proper bracing in 15mm.

Ok, I'm not sure how I'd get it into my house though

Ok so I am safe to use the 55 glass or should I cut up my 125's? And I mainly want a rtc (but probably will never happen but one can dream) what about like a spotted gar and some clown knives?

What would you guys do? Glass choice? And stocking wise?
Best bet is to get thicker glass, probably 1 inch thick IMO and you can have it be however long you want, then for stocking it depends, you will probably need a bigger tank if you want a gar, but if you do what youŕe thinking right now I say do the 125 and you can use it as a growout tank, but to house something for life you could do a black ghost knife fish rather than a clown knife, you could do some cichlid (oscars, green terror, red devil, flowerhorn, pike cichlids, etc.), a bichir(especially if you want a primitive looking fish), or a gulper catfish in place of a red tail catfish.

Sorry but do you even own a big tank to be giving advice like this. 1 inch thick glass? Do you know how heavy this is or the cost?
Search the forum. There are a lot of good builds already proven out which are more reasonable.
First step would be to learn to keep fish before getting so deeply invested. You'll be surprised how much is involved. A 240g is a good start.
