Well I picked up another marble the other day after stopping by a lfs that I haven't been to in sometime. When I stopped in a week before getting her she was eating. Although she was skinny. I know how this store takes care of its fish so with my big heart I bought her this past Friday.

Fast forward to today and her appetite has dropped to almost nothing. I have tried everything from bloodworms, krill, pellets, red wrigglers, night crawlers, shrimp, and tilapia. All the other rays I have will take any of this in a heartbeat.

She isn't curling yet but seems to be loosing some of her depth perception (crashing into the side of the tank) so I am hoping some of the more VETERAN ray keepers will have some idea on what I can do to help her out to get her eating. The tank has housed some of my other rays before I moved them into my 300+ gallon.

Has anyone ever force fed a motoro like some folks have done to saltwater rays? I know you can't save them all but I figured it is worth a shot.

Thanks in advance

Tried live blackworms? They're less stressfull to the ray. Toss them in, insure they don't end up in the filter and just leave them. With other foods you're always messing around digging uneaten stuff out. Stresses the ray.....

I've used baby wild caught crayfish before with luck.

Prazi has been known to spark appetite.

She all by herself?

Thanks for the reply Alan. Have not tried blackworms yet. Will do that tomorrow when I get home from work. She is all by herself. Pulled everyone not knowing what I would need to do with her. She was in a tank at the lfs with about 8 Florida gar. Haven't turned on the light to her tank since I got her. Will let you know if that works. Thanks.

I would pick either salt treatment or prazi treatment and hope for the best. Sounds like hail mary time

Going to end up going with prazi. This is why I have to stop going to fish stores. My wife even felt sorry for this little girl. As sad as it sounds she has a better chance with me then over there. If I hadn't picked her up she probably you have been dead already. Thanks for the advice guys, you 3 have more then enough experience with the amount of rays that have passed thru your tanks.

I have been there many times..you cant help but want to help...i agree its better off with you.
I wish you all the luck in the world.

IF you're going to use fish make sure you don't add very many, I've seen groups of guppies and rosies pick at rays before, especially if they are the only thing in the tank. Seen ghost shrimp pick at them too. This is why I like baby crawdads. They don't seem quit as "pinchy". Blackworms are best bet, with occasional cut up worms. My rays don't seem too fond of red wigglers when feeling ill. I've seen them take bits of crawler and refuse wigglers. Some say they taste different.

Small frequent waterchanges. I usually do 2 a day when I'm removing uneaten food in the morning and evening.

Keep us updated!!!!!

Will keep you guys updated. Picking up some prazi and black worms on the way home. Doing a clean up and water change again when I get home. Guppies I have on hand. The wife won't notice any missing. LOL.
