Yeah I've seen pics, he looks nice, but not apparently he's really placid, maybe I should just go with some growouts?I like all the options. Have you seen the jag, they seem to be all over the place in temperament.
Thanks for the info! Yeah ok, I think I'm gonna go with a butti, or a midevil (leaning towards butti). Haha I can't australias import laws for it pirhanaAgreed all will be cool, butti will still hit 14inch quicker than a 10 inch jag will ime, our UK water is crud tho...
Personally I would get a group off butti and keep the biggest meanest one, they love veg aswell as meaty treats. I've kept festae, they are pretty but not really in your face, I've personally never had an aggressive jag but at 12 inch maybe it was small, ive kept many amphs and although some have been aggressive none have been predatory...the best chance for what you want ime is butti or an oscar, or a manuelli piranha!-)
Yeah I've heard, apparently they're not really in your face either so I might let go of that idea for nowThe Festae pair is a big commitment, they are not the easiest to keep as the males can turn quickly and they are just so aggreeaive. If you want a wet pet I'd get a group of buttis or midevils
Nice size tank, looking forward to some updates. What size are the dovii your looking at getting?Ok, in the last day a lot of stuff has happened and I've changed my mind. I sold the 180 and bought me a 300 (I think, its 8'long x 2.5'wide x 2' high) and I will be purchasing some dovii! I'm going to be growing them out for a few months in a 100gal, until the 300 has fully cycled. So don't be alarmed if I post pics and they're in a 4ft tank coz it's just temporary... very temporary!
Only small like 1-2 inch haha. In terms of feeding, what should I feed them and for how long until they can eat pellets?Nice size tank, looking forward to some updates. What size are the dovii your looking at getting?
Awesome thanks! They will be fine in a 100 gal for a while. As for feeding crushed pellets or granules as a staple, with the odd treat to start with.
