Biggest size reached by a goonch in a tank?

Holy ****ing ****! That is a big cat! How big is the tank? How big was this cat when he got it? And how long did it take to reach this outragious size?!

Because normally i read more stuff like Monster Fis wrote, that they do not grow too fast. Also how do you tell weather you got one the smaller staing ones or the true monster?

i believe his pond is about 6k gallon. only took his fish about 4-5 years to get to this size i think

Since there are many pictures in this general goonch threat where you can see them among other fish, does anyone have any experience with keeping them community tanks at bigger sizes?

Because in the other threat about the ARTC it is stett, that those get way more aggressive when they mature. How about the goonch when it reaches, let's say over 40"? Will it use the big teeth to shred anything to pieces like the older literature is telling us, or do they remain the more or less imovable objekts as we know them?

I have 2 B. bagarius that are 16-17". The smaller one I got in February this year at 3" so in 8 months it grew 13" which is still pretty fast. The larger one I only had for about a month and was already big. At this size they still aren't that aggressive but others with bigger have seen insane aggression out from theirs. Attacking fish almost the same size as them

That's interesting! Most owners i talked with described their bagarius as pretty calm fish who did not interact at all with tankmates. But those have all been smaller than 12" so far. There are some videos of community tanks and bagarius but this will always be difficult since most big aquarium fish require higher temperatures.

As long as you keep them well fed and the tank mates are too big to be considered food I don't see a problem. Liam's friend with that massive goonch has it in a community tank as well
