Biggest size tank you can realistically own

my wet dream is a 15 foot long by 4 foot wide by 4 foot tall tank that could properly house a large snakehead.

I will likely not be able to get such a tank though (due to the necessity of having a house to put it in) until I am at least 40-50 yrs of age.

i always thought that a 400gal would suit me just fine. its not that far out of reach for me, i could get one. convincing the other half though is the problem being that i would take up so much room.

Im going to be making a basement 4x4 to fit the 1200 gallon in spring of next year. Does that count?

Anything bigger then that I am going to need a bigger house. And to move to a state that doesn't have such high water bills...

If I had the money and time I would rip my fish room to bits and put 2 12x3x2 down either side would be great put a nice padded bench seat down the middle. Problem is I would end up living in there.

I want something like 12' x 4 x 4 that would be cool big enough for a full grown red tail. I kick myself for buying a 300 and building it into a wall cuz now I don't want it
