Biggest small mouth bass you've ever caught?

Going there next Monday to try to catch some more monsters.

i know. I am much of a fish lover so it wan't my idea in keeping them. My friend has fished there since he was was a kid and he likes to eat them. He told me that the big ones are nearing the end of their life cycle. Better leave some living space for the smaller bass. I was wading in the river and there were thousands of 6 inchers darting around.

That is the EXACT opposite of what you should do. Release the larger breeding females, keep (if you must) the smaller males.

You know that bass can live many many many many years right? End of life cycle? Killing a 20 year old animal is never the answer, unless you really need it for food, then go for it.

True! Larger bass makes excellent grilled or baked fillets.

Larger bass also make great release options. Taco bell has a great value menu if you need to eat. You can attach the tacos to your fishing line if necessary.

There is really no harm in consuming some of the bass you catch. Odds are, unless you're doing it on a large scale, you aren't hurting anything.
Personally, I don't like bass.

i agree, but the problem is that most people simply do not, in any way shape or form, understand that large breeding females should be released. In fact most people think the opposite is better, release the small fish.

And when you say "odds are", you'd be surprised.

I don't think I would. It sounds like you're more concerned about people releasing large fish for the sake of sport than you are with conservation of any sort.

And i understand that animals should be and can be eaten. I support hunting and fishing. JUST RELEASE THE LARGE TROPHY FISH!!!!
You worry too much!!!! You cannot just push your opinion into anybody's throats.
