Beefheart and earthworms (2-3 dozen at a time), mostly. They seem to eat anything resembling meat, though. I was surprised to see them swim up and take freeze dried krill from the surface.

I make a mixture for mine. Beef heart and/or shrimp for main meat source, add tropical flakes, bloodworm, tubifex worm and algae pellets. Zap it all together in food processor, spread mixture on wax paper and freeze. I score mine before freezing so I can break off little squares at feeding time. Just drop in a couple squares and watch the feeding frenzie.
