bird in aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't do it

i take Singulair for my allergies, cause i'm not old enough to get shots yet. the meds help alot, and i find that if i don't take the pills regularily, i get stuffed up and i feel like crap.

i might talk to my parents about getting a low-allergie bird.

btw, thanks for all of the help guys, i really appreciate it.

I clean three bird cages every morning..out comes the tray and roll up old newspaper and throw it away..in goes new newspaper..takes all of 5 minutes to clean the 3 cages..the harder part is vacumming up the seeds that fall while they play or eat.. but you definitly need a regular cage so that the bird gets fresh air in all directions.. with out drafts....Please do not even think about a fan... maybe you really should not even think about getting a bird..if you cannot properly take care of it it will just bring friction in the house with your parents.. and birds do not stink if cared for on a daily basis.. chicken coops stink because their are just too many crammed into a small space with not enough hygiene methods in place..Birds should also have an aloe spray mist daily to help with natural dander and also help them grow new feathers.. without irritation..

its not as much the smell as it is allergies, and i figured that the glass might hold it in better than wire would. also, i would go with outdoor birds, but we have lots of racoons around here, and i have a feeling that the birds would slowly get picked off, one by one.

Get an ostrich. I'd like to see racoon eat one of those. lol
Seriously though...you can get them pretty easily. :D

I used to take what you take, but now I take a pill, forget the name. I'm 15 and have been getting the shots since I was 5. Hardest part about getting the shots is the initial test. You get 100 shots on each arm to test for allergy reaction. It REALLY, really sucks. I recently stopped getting shots though, I wanted to see if just taking my pill would work, and I'm doing fine. Might start doing shots again once spring starts.

Listen to Liz though, she's a Bird Master!

yeah, i've had the initial test. it wasn't TOO bad, but it was pretty irittating. my doctor won't let me get them yet because he says that i have to develope more, or my allergies might change.

and as far as ostriches go, there is an emu farm like 20 minutes from my house, so i could probably get some from there. the problem with big birds would be space, as most of our yard is consumed by our pool.

As JD_MAN can attest, you can keep a bird in your sump.

I tried putting him in the tank first, but it was a pain in the ass trying to get the scuba gear on him.

Waking up with 200 little red dots on each arm all in lines is quite odd, huh?

Emu's are awesome. I used to live near an Emu farm, one time and emu let me pet on top of its head! If I had a huge yard, maybe a pasture for horses, It'd be cool to get some emus.

From what I hear, there meat is pretty tasty, as are the eggs. :grinno:

yeah, it is pretty strange:ROFL:. i remember that the needle that represented cats made me swell up bad.

and yeah, i would love to have emus. i actually asked my parents if we could get some one time, but i now realize that we just don't have the space.:(
