bird in aquarium?

Just make an outdoor box for some homing pigeons. The racoons wont be able to get to them if you build it right. And you dont ever have to worry about them flying away because they just come right back. Ive had 20 in a converted shed that we used for trainning dogs for hunting. (Shot blanks at the birds so dont get a all fussy) They were actually pretty interesting and will reproduce if you give them the right conditions. The only thing to watch out for are birds of prey ha ha. They are like the Oscars of the bird world. Ive seen one take a pigeon right off the roof of my shed in a flash! It was really cool! The other advantage is if you go to the right place like a game farm and your young like i was you can get them for cheap if not free. I started with 5 for free.

Yeah pigeons are easy to keep. I started the same way, my dad bought a few for training our hunting dogs (they weren't killed either) and I built them a large coop/aviary. Pretty interesting birds, and they're easy to breed too. Lots of cool varieties out there. I raised Homing, Rotors and Tumblers. I use to let them out to fly and they always came back. But like Fish Eat Fish said, I had bad problems with hawks trying to catch them.

I don't have many chickens, and a large shed, and mine still smell nasty!! It's more of the shed than the birds though.

We've ha Zebra finches, and budgies (parakeets) and if I could get rid of, or move some stuff around (maybe build the iguanas a new cage) I could use my big enclosure for a few small birds. Now that would be cool!! ^^
