yes he talks,we never know if it was him or one of us that spoke.when my sister comes over he calls her in my voice, & she gets irritated. Unfortunately he loves to imitate bottle rockets to the T, so we always say a little prayer before the 4th. And also hope that no cars w/ loose belts go by. One day we had electricians here working & he kept on makin the nextell noise & they kept checking their phones, they finally caught on, pretty funny when he messes w/ other people. He also meows, purs, and barks, coughs,& sneezes, i could go on, but id be here all day.
haha,, they are the best.... mine says, do you have a cookie,.... what are you doing... are you ready... go to the bathroom ... i used to say that to the dogs before i left the house... he sings.. i am an african gray... i gotta lot to sayyyyyyyyy.... and your right i would be here all day too...:grinno:

That would be awesome BF!!!!! Careful with aviary kept birds because they might not to be friendly to you unless you constantly interact with em. Due to Macaws notoriety to being biters up to the point of aggression. And id steer clear from toucans ive heard only negatives on keeping them.
I just hate keeping something that flies in a small cage. But I figure its either that or rot at Petland:irked:
I asked my Mom about an aviary, she said its too expensive and we have no where to put it:(

the idiots at the lfs (thats what I call it because as far as I'm concerned that's all they sell:D:headbang2) said my Budgies would last a year but each was like 1 year old when I bought them.
They were $10 each but I think I got a bargain; they almost look like "English" Budgies.
I used to do all kinds of research on Budgies. You might wanna know:
In the early 1900's when the first few Blue Budgies were bred a pair sold for $2000. No one has ever bred a red Budgie, although Budgie lovers are waiting for one. Some Budgies are born with a crest like seen on a Jay or a Cardinal, etc etc. Budgirigar is New Zealand Native language for good meal!:WHOA::eek::drool: (Yum. Arrow.)

skittles-budgie
spud-peach face lovebird
goose-canada goose DDDDUUUHHHHH
vanilla and toffy-roosters(cant tell what type)
pizza pie-black billed magpie
pip-house sparrow
bit-black bird

Wow, you guys have some GORGEOUS birds! I am loving the sun conures

My family thought it was too loud and my neighbors would complain so often I would get noise violation tickets. Had to rehome him. I miss that bird
thats too bad... yes my conure is louder then my umbrella cockatoo is sometimes... the only one that is totally non yelling... is my african gray... he is happy talking about lifes issues... he actually gets mad at the others when they start screaming... he tells them to shut up and be quiet... :D:D

i just got a new 6 month old baby quaker
i'v had in the past 8 cockateils, and 2 love birds, i never had any problems with my love birds, although my male was a little "special" my ex put down powdered rat poison in the room his cage was in(genius that he was), and he got messed up, had a constant head shake, and always tilted his head alll the way back, he literally couldnty hold his head still or straight.. i had to hang his food from the roof of the cage for him to eat. but anywhos, he was a lovey, would ride around in your pocket all day, never nipped a soul..his girlfriend was eveil incarnate however, but once she was out of the cage, she calmed down.
