Birds as food

what i meant by saying that snakes are not freaks of nature is that their strange (to some people) appearence has a purpose, a freak of nature, i feel, is an organism that has a trait or mutation that serves no purpose, such as animals with two heads
and what bird did he mention that costs $250? ive had people offer me free lovebirds, cocktiels, and caiques before..

oh really? because when i spoke to you in person, you said that you had heard of people offering cheap, not free, exotic birds to other people because they wanted to get rid of the babies, but nobody had ever offered one to you. good lie!

not a lie, my friends mom offered me her lovebird "romeo" because she was scared their new jack russel terrier would kill it
my cousin offered me her cousins cockteil because they didnt have time for it anymore
my friend zach offered me his black headed caique because they did not have time to play with him anymore
zing

that doesnt substantiate the lie that you told me.

question up for grabs: how do the snakes get the birds?

you sir, are a freak. why in your right mind would you feed budgies or love birds to a slithering freak of nature? love birds cost so much money and are beautiful, and budgies are the most harmless cool little birds ever? if you enjoy watching a snake eat that much, you are sick in the head:screwy:

Your entitled to youre opinion. So am i if u call people freaks and sick in the head and disrespect them like this u must have a few screw loose yourself:screwy:. Why i feed my snakes birds? I like to vary the diet of al my animals even ""slithering freaks of nature". And for youre information i dont feed my snakes live animals. And how a snakes get a bird? He opens his mouth grabs the bird and swallow its.

sheesh, must be your time of the month. if you actually read ANY of the posts following those(which you obviously did not) you can see that i apologized, and i was just shocked that someone would feed an exotic bird to a snake.
settle down there, lassie.
wow that was so informative, i couldn't have figured that out on my own. i know how snakes eat i want to know how they can catch a flying bird, or if people feed them dead

many snake species are adapted to grabbing birds from perches or from mid flight

Cave pythons grab bats even

Someone could use a sense of humor....or maybe a little patience or respect for others. Blowing up on people for asking what a budgie is in your budgie thread, blowing up on people for feeding birds in here just because you like them more than snakes-Chill out a little man...

I don't really see any need to feed live birds to snakes-possibly more for the snake's safety, but also to be more humane to the bird. Those "defenseless" lovebirds and other small parrots have one hell of a bite. As far as them being beautiful and expensive-I doubt many people are feeding high quality, top dollar lovebirds to their snakes. Have you seen some of the slate gray "mutt" lovebirds some chain pet stores carry? I'm surprised they can even move them without giving them out for free. Am I necessarily saying it's right to feed some birds just because they don't look as nice as others? No, but that's the way it works
