Has anyone ever been bit?? just curious, when i clean and rearrange my p's have always hid and ran for there life, but i have seen some very aggressive p in the movie lounge...anyone been nailed yet???????

i put my had over a net so "brutis" wouldnt flop out on the floor, he bit through the bottom the net and flopped on the floor, thats the closest ive came, not sure what the hell i was thinkin :screwy: :feedback:

I just answered this in the thread about how to clean a piranha tank, If you want to get the feeding aggression in your tank up a bit and your fish are at least 4-5" long start feeding a bit less and only once per day, then after they are over 6" once every other day. Try to feed everytime you open the lid, use small feeders and feed only onne feeder at a time with a little break between feedings, stand there as they eat, after a while raising the lid becomes the same as ringing the dinner bell and you standing there means food.

Divide the tank, or net off sections while you clean it.

There will always be a chance of getting nipped, or bit viciously so it's better to play it smart.

a piranha bite would leave a great scar and make for a sweet story to tell. the only way my ps would bite me is if i where to net them and stick some flesh in thier mouths......

Here is a National Geographic picture.

i think i would be glad they hid when i cleaned the tank. it startles me when my oscar nips me, i couldnt imagine a p biting me...

the guy at my lfs got bit by my rbp's when he bagged them... he was placing the rubber band on and one bit him through the bag and drew blood.....
