Sounds like you're the type of individual that should not be using feeders. Predation isen't a pretty thing, animals get injured and don't always die a quick death. Perhaps you should consider killing the fish yourself before giving them to the turtle or just buying fish that are already dead. You can buy frozen silversides at your LFS.
