Wow someone wen't over-board on the color booster during editing....If you could post some pics of the black aro thats not edited. I'm thinking about adding one to my collection.

It actually is the lighting on the tank. I don't play much with my pics other then cropping and contrast.

The lighting on the tank is 4 65 watt 6700k pc lamps. I also added (for photographing) 2 40w 4' strip lights one of the lamps being a Coralife brand "Colormax" which enhances the colors of the fish. This is especially prevalent when I don't use a flash. If you look at the following two full tank shots you can see in one the black aro is under the colormax and in the other she is farther back in the tank under the 6700k lamps.

Lots of pics of my Black Arowana and others here

Give me a break Rec!!! You better then any one know the effects lighting can have on your fish, Look at your dovii. Very beautiful fish but enhanced by lighting. I supose your dovii ate all the greatful dead bears that were in your tank...

Dovii photos from this thread here

Ahh you thought you were clever and went on a search, good for you man. Actually that photo had no editing at all. It was taken with a ****ty 2mg camera and at the time I had 4 48" powerglo bulbs and when he was below them he would glo. Jed(TheTrust) will be a witness to that. But nice try anyways. Next time just admit you enhanced the color and the contrast to the extreme to make your fish look un-natural and it will be all good. I simply called you out on your editing, just be honest its just a fish forum. Unfortunately as my dovii has grown his colors has diminished a bit.

Very nice tank...I have been thinking about getting some Discus for my Black aro...Now this makes me want to go out and get some.

First of all I wanna thank Rec for living up true to his name and Wrecking my thread. I didn't need to do a search, I just remember that thread and knew it was on of the first I posted in. I never said that you edited your photo, only that you use lighting to enhance the look of your fish.

Looks at if I made two mistakes;

First I should have not posted that pic everything looks very unatural or maybe I could have edited it to actually make it look better, but as I stated before I only crop or adjust contrast on my pics.

Second I incorrectly stated the type lamp, it is not a colormax, but in fact a Power glo(the same lamp that make the dovii look so good) I can only imagine what my fish would look like if I were running 4 lamps on my tank such as Rec did.

Oh and to Rec, the following are your words. Maybe you should try to live by them

WOW.........You are just a pathetic hater.......Lighting helps but my dovii's great color comes from good genetics. Please keep your negative ignorance off my post...:screwy:
