I keep hearing about how black arowanas are very peaceful and gentle unless something provokes it. Are they community fish? I'm going to test a 6 inch black arowana with a Jardini about 4 inches, 3 clown loaches each about 2 inches, 2 Jack dempseys both 2 inches and a Ornate Bichir that's about 5 inches. The jardini has never bothered the other fish and sometimes schools with them, all except a oscar that didn't belong to me. Atm they're all in a 55 gallon tank and I plan to upgrade in the future. Should things go bad between the two aros, I'll separate them but has anyone ever achieved this? I'm hoping to start them both while they're still small. Then wait for the dreaded 8 inch mark of my jardini and see what happens then.

not a good idea blacks are to much money to risk

the jardini hasn't bothered anything because its still a baby, wait until it matures a bit and hits 12" and the if it is still peaceful at that size you might be able to get away with a second aro, it is a very small chance it works though

I don't suggest you do it, since Black Aro are the weakest Aro IMO. The Jardini would destroy the Black if it got aggressive.

Against all sane advice, I have them both in the tank atm. Jardini freaked when I put the black aro in. It hid in the corner some 2 minutes as the black made a few rounds and explored the tank. Slowly the Jardini built up it's courage, swam up to the black(this was where I got my net ready) and then just swam alongside it. It still is right now, they're following each other like puppy dogs. Black makes a left turn and swims, Jardini follows and vice versa. I feel at ease for now and I hope it can stay this way forever. I would hate to have to split the two when my jardini decides it's done being nice. So if there is some fish god out there, all I want for Christmas is a peaceful tank.

yeah atm's right jardini will follow and soon begin nippin @ the tail and fins and will eventually cause trouble and bring pain too the black and yes the black are breed in pairs much like all other fish however they r commonly kept in medium quantities EX..(10-20) and willl live together fine : provided ther's nice size amounts of food given
