Hi, I'm wondering about buying a black Arowana. Tank 250 gallons. I wonder how big can grow in captivity black aro. Tell me what the biggest black aro seen in the aquarium. The fact that the "books" they write, that up to 40 "growing up, I know, but what is seen visually. Some photos also would be useful.

what are the dimensions of your tank?

240 is enough for a full grown black assuming the footprint of the tank is good.

I have two black aros one is probably 4.5 years and is 26" The other is a little over 1.5 years and is 23-24".

IMO an Arowana should be kept is at least a tank that is 3x the aro's length and have a width/depth at least equal to the aro's length. I would figure, with proper care, a black will get 30-32". So minimum footprint need be 96"x30".

x2 believe it or not.

Aquarium has dimensions of 83 "x33" x25 ". I do not plan to hold more than one aromatic. In addition, the tank will be 2x stingray Motoro and 6 x tapajos

thats insane.
a 240 is fine for one.

Opinions vary, as does insanity. Pretty sad seeing a 30" long arowana jammed in a 24" wide tank.
