Hi does any one know how much a black arowana can grow in a 300 gallon tank 8x2.5x2 feet. I already had two silver ones in this tank before and they grew up to 2.5 feet in just two years but a man told me that the black arowana does not grow as lage as the silver do, when they are kept in an aquarium. Is it true or not ?

I had a 3ft black in a 6x2x2 it wasn't ideal I know but true

the silvers you had should have gotten a lot bigger than 2.5 ft as well... what were you feeding?? and water conditions?

Why do you say that they shouldve gotten a lot bigger? That is about average growth, if not above average for captive arowana.

You should consider a larger tank. At least a wider tank.
I think the tank is wide enough it is 2.5 feet, my silvers never had any problem to tern around in it

The silvers grow at that size in only two years, I think that 2.5 feet in two years is not bad :D and I was feding them chicen brest, blood worms, and pallets.

Yup. From what I read, the Black Aro will grow up to about 3 feet in captivity. However, my personal experience is that they seems to grow at a slightly slower rate than a Silver. My black aro had a fast growth spurt from 12" to about 20". Then it slowed down from there, as the aro just got thicker and fatter.
