You should talk to some of the scientists in the gar forum so they can go over some of the "crap" with you.

Secondly, saying every arowana will reach 47" like the world record is like saying every human will grow to be 8' 11" like Robert Wadlow.
I never said everything will reach 47" :screwy:. I'm just pointing at the fact that you assume they usually max out at 30", which they clearly do not.

Where did I say they max out at 30":screwy:? I said thats average or above average growth considering the fact that like brian said, growth slows down considerably at 24". Maybe I should've put "rate" so you could understand.

Maybe you should've put rate then LOL. I thought you meant growth as in max size.

NO, I went back and reread my first post and then understood why you thought that. Either way, as Brian had said, not many people have proof of 3'+ aros, even in a tank the size of his.

True. If I remember correctly, only ones that have actually posted pics are MSmasspoly and Miguel. There was a couple more, can't think of them ATM.

A lot of claims of three foot plus silver and black aros, yet you really don't see many people posting proof of such. For the most part, I haven't seen many people posting silvers over 30" or blacks over 24".

As for mine, my two silvers are 5.5-6 years old and 29-30". They grew rather quickly up to 24-25" and then the grow has slowed drastically since.

My two blacks, one is 26-27" and going on 5 years old, was a slow grower but not a very aggressive feeder. My youngest black is 25-26" and only 21 months old.
My silvers got up to 2.5 feet in two years and my black eats as much as the silvers used to do. I hope that at lest it gets up to 3feet, I would be happy with that size:D The silver I have in my avatar is one of the two I had 2.5feet

Your youngest black seems to have grown up fast, 25-26" is very good in less then two years. It is almost the same growing rate my silvers had. Mine were 30" in two years
