i like the natural.

1= your pacu kinda fits into that environment
2= yeah.....

but again, its up to you

I have heard of people using vaseline to get backgrounds to stick.
Never done it myself.
Paint works best IME.
Black or dark green look best,IMO.

i think black would look better. i put my background on my tank by taping it to the tank trim at the corners.
I will try doing it that way next time. This was my ghetto way of hanging it.:grinno:

You might like the natural background more if you do a better job of installing it. Clean the glass and the background very thoroughly, then apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the background, making sure not to miss any spots. Then apply it to the glass and smooth it out with your hands, then take a wide plastic putty knife, or a credit card, and squeeze out all the bubbles, starting at the center and working them out toward the edges. The background should stick without doing anything else, but you can tape it along the top edge just to be safe. It will look much nicer and brighter because it's actually adhering to the glass rather than just hanging behind it.

Best way i've found for attaching a background is to get double-sided scotch tape (3m makes a good one)..it's clear and holds up well. That's how I have the background on my 150 attached and i've never had a problem.

Personally, I like black background on black substrate the best. As long as the fish aren't black, it really makes the colours stand out.

I've thought about using double-sided tape, but I'm scared that I would get it on there and not be able to get it back off.

IF you can keep the water "crispy" then ill say forget both of them and go with nothing but super clear water aka "crispy"

This way looks the best when using a background like you have.. A black backgroung adhered using this method makes the tank look like it doesnt have a backgroung on it.. If you put more wood on the back of the tank it will look really good.
