Okay here is my dumb question for the night, how are you achieving black backgrounds on your tanks. Is it paint or something more temporary.

Some people use purchased black aquarium backgrounds, others use paint, and I've even seen some use trash bags. Sometimes there may not be any background at all, but the lighting for the pictures is just right.

I use black paper!

I used black latex paint on my 125. Looks good and peels off easily.

you just paint the outside of the back with regular latex paint? And how do you remove if need be.

Yep. I just used a small can and a small paint brush. 24 hours after application, it peeled right off very easily. I am not sure if it would be harder to peel off after being on for a long period of time though, but I imagine it would still come off pretty easily.

haha my the bottom half of my walls is dark gray, so i don't even bother with a background, before i used colored paper

why did you change your mind. Only left it on for a day. Did it look bad.

No. I never changed my mind. The next day after I painted, I went to take off the tape that I used to cover the edging for painting, and when I took it off, I accidentally peeled some paint off, and it came off very easily. This was over a year ago, and I have no regrets!

I use ACE spray enamel tho if you were talented you actually could reverse paint some interesting backgrounds.-Anne
