Forgot to mention, no matter what you do, be sure to clean your glass throughly before you start. Make sure it is completely dry too. It sucks having to do things twice. . . ;)

I use ACE spray enamel tho if you were talented you actually could reverse paint some interesting backgrounds.-Anne

that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm thinking about using a sponge (or something else from the artsy-fartsy store) to do some texturing with olive green, olive drab, beige and brown. then painting black over that. of course some silver, gray, or white might be cool, too (instead of the natural earthy colors).I'm kind of apprehensive, though. it would suck if I didn't like it. maybe I'll try it on my 20 first.

anyway, I have black vinyl backgrounds on my tanks right now. definately gonna paint soon.

Yep. I just used a small can and a small paint brush. 24 hours after application, it peeled right off very easily. I am not sure if it would be harder to peel off after being on for a long period of time though, but I imagine it would still come off pretty easily.

mine is kinda perm now..... lol its past the peel off easy part... but you could just use a very sharp razor or some good paint stripper....

Old School: crinkled up aluminum foil painted black taped to the tanks frame. This allows for some depth as you can make caves and depressions in the aluminum foil.

I've used paint in a can and I've used spray paint, I like the spray paint better. Haven't tried to remove it, but I was told to use a razor blade and it comes of pretty easily. I have one I painted blue, it was suppose to be a really dark like midnight blue...but of course it didn't turn out that way, and I really do not like it. So when I try to remove it, I can let ya know if it was actually easy or not.

Wipe it down with turps or Methylated spirits if you want to clean it... and they both evaporate. ;)

This sounds interesting do you have a picture of this? I am wondering if I would be able to disguise the fact that I had to use a couple layers in order to cover the whole height of the tank.
