Black blotches on Dovii head?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You probably should have realised that keeping fish with the potential to grow to monstrous sizes is only for the guys that really know what they are doing. You should probably try and sell it once it's getting big, maybe your only potential option. Somebody will eventually pick it up, but for a small part of its value usually.

Please take a little longer to type too, for someone older than me you are not the best at typing. Really

You should really consider just returning the Gar now, as well as any other fish you don't have the means to keep. RTC and Gar really belong in ponds/pools or 5,000 gallon+ tanks. Even a 220 is on the lower side of what you want to keep a Dovii in.

Then yea when they get to big I'll sell them on offer up or something like that or bring them to a LFS thanks for clearin that up. I don't wanna be responsible for gator gar diein out
Alright I'm jumping in on this one. I would bet money on the LFS not even taking a gator gar or dovii ESPECIALLY if you grow them to a larger than saleable size. most places don't have a tank large enough to accommodate a 4-5 foot fish and even if they did they wouldn't take a psychotic killer/literal tank buster like a gator gar. Do yourself and the fish a favor now and see if the LFS will take it back for free or like 1/3 of what you paid.

Also lets talk about how you are letting your dovii and gar kill all those other fish. That, in my book, is well over the line into animal cruelty. You have a pike cichlid who can use literally 1/32 of his tank because you find it alright to allow that dovii to beat the hell out of it. Do yourself and the fish a favor and either sell the dovii to the lfs OR ALL of your other fish. Its about whats right for the animals, not yourself. I can see you have some grasp on what these others are saying so now would be the time to step up and act like a responsible member of our hobby.

Also, Frank Castle Frank Castle you've been down this road before with him. You know the hybrid talks don't work. Lol and yeah they are native. I've caught big ones down here, it's a blast.
