always wrote it off as a belly button...

never saw any on my pups born with yolk sack they just poped out and were free swimming from the second they were born no yould sack

mmmmmm you have made me think now is it just females that have this mark

One of my retics has one but it is the male. I thought it was like a belly button type mark but i'm no expert. Out of the 5 rays I have had, he was the only one with that mark.

Both my female and male motoro's have a very similar mark.
Foetus would probably have a yolk sac or placenta (?) of some sort attached to it whilst developing inside the female.

Good info guys..

I suspected it had something to do with the birthing process as well..

but I had to pick brains to see if anyone else noticed something special about it? Like, if it could be something that rays regularly ingest and have issues with? I know I recently saw a ray autopsy containing a chunk of driftwood, wanted to make sure it isn't anything like that..

So what happened with the ray? Did it attempt to ingest some driftwood or got injuried from it?
