Well who here uses black diamond ? I decided to buy some at tractor supply $16.00 for 100 lbs.
Ive read of people using it,so i put it in my 130 to try it out no inhabitants in there. So here's the
deal i cleaned it pretty good washed but there are still alot of particles floating around,I changed about 50%
water and aggitated it good while i did the change.Ok 24 hrs gone by still some floating debris
what do i do ?Theres not alot maybe thats how it is with darker substrates this is my first time with black .:WHOA:

filter floss in your filter. And/or fashion some type of net out of some really fine fabric. Unfortunately you just gotta kinda let it run its course in this situation.

And what method did you use to wash it? I hear that an old pillow case is the best bet. whatever the case post some pics. I just like to see what others are doing.

Indeed, post photos when you are finished.

Sand looks nice.

The water well still have a lot of particles floating around for awhile because of the sheer amount of sand... I used pool filter sand for my 240 (50pound bags for 10 bucks) and no matter how much I washed the sand it still was cloudy for two days in the tank but it will clear up... and I also use filter floss mentioned above, and it works great. Where did you buy the substrate I have been looking around for it... but wasn't sure if you just had to order it online.
