Black Diamond Blasting Sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From what I read it can cause problems with fish that sift through substrates. But it hasn't harmed any of my pleco gobies, catfish or any other fish. my beautiful wife has snails in her planted tank that burrow thru it without any harm. I wouldn't use it for stingrays. But it doesn't seem to bother any of my bottom dwellers. The only down side I see is it shows every little bit of fish waste. But I guess that keeps me dedicated to maintenance which is better for my fish. All in all I really like it.

That looks real good. I'll bet it would look good against some big colorful fish.

Not my idea. My kick *** wife told me to buy the stuff for her planted tank (I don't know where she saw it). I just hunted down where to get it and bought it, liked the way it looked and put it in my other tanks too. As soon as I can figure out how to plumb my new 265 she bought me (I know she's the best huh!!) Am going to put it in that Tank also.

I just put some in my 30 galllon just to test it out... Looks fantastic!!! Also FWI if you look on the bottom of the bag it tells you the size of the grit 80/60, 40/20 etc. I got the 40/20 it is more course than the 80/60 and a little darker. :naughty:

Just put more in my 100 gallon cube and a new piece of driftwood.
