Black gar?

Is this a true black gar, or is it just from breeding season(wild caught). Also, what the species would be(caught in Georgia).

Looks like a dark phase (stressed) alligator gar. Have seen black tropical gars that are bred that way.

I believe Georgia has spotted, longnose and gator.

Maybe it's due to the lighting or whatever but the fish looks more brown than black anyhow.
