A more fitting response would be I stand corrected.

I remember that member wanting to pay 10k for a black gatf and agree he was bull squirting however there is such a fish as a black Goliath tiger fish. They are extremely rare but they come from the bottom left region of the congo river known as the black river in africa.

in Koop's defense i dont think he was BS'ing ... i think he knew it was a long shot that one would come available

but i know he had a classic corvette he was willing to sell to finance the fish at that time

This is pure conjecture...no such fish was found because nobody can confirm that it exists. As far as selling a car to buy a fish, that is ridiculous...why don't you go to Africa and bring me back a half dozen big ones and I'll hand you the keys to my 911 Carrera S. Bring me back a truckload of them and I'll sign over the title for my new house..LOL!!

Don't believe everything you read on the internet!

Sorry, Stating he is willing to pay 10k for a fish is Bull Squirting.

DSC01179.jpgbig goliath.jpgnice fish, I agree the color is a bit different. I've seen thousands of tiger fish, and some are more gold, some are reddish, and a few are darker. Just like anything else, there is a variation. as for the true black goliath, its hard to validate it either way. Its always nice to hope and dream!

As for larger goliaths, there are a few other large ones on the net overeases.
