I would get it into a tank, but do it slowly. Let it acclimate into the main system and let its parents know it exists. It may become a meal if dropped right in there.

My tank isn’t big enough for three. It really isn’t big enough for two but I got lucky these two bonded.

I figured it wouldn’t be good long term, but a larger system would be nicer than a small filter. At least until you can get it into your brother’s tank.

So I just bought something that should work. My brother used something similar when he bought me a tiny little yellow perch till it was big enough for my tank. I’ll post up pics when I get it settled.

I also remembered taking a video of the two a while back and sending it to my brother. I told him they were either fighting or mating.....lol I may have phrased that a little different.
I have the video that shows them dancing around all over the tank. Can I post videos here?

That filter is pretty clean for one that hasn't been serviced long enough for a fish to grow to 3"

the one that’s a little over two inches.

they obviously bred more than once. The small one is TINY
