How long does it take for the black ghost knife fish to grow??? He's been in my tank now for a few months and the pleco he was bought before has passed him in growth .e and the pleco were purchased around 3 inches each. Now the pleco is around 6 inches and the BGK is only 3.5 inches! H They are in a 75gal tank with some angels and guppies that are thriving! I've feed him blood worms every day and have supplemented with brine shrimp & flake. I know that he's been getting food because i hand feed him. how long do they live? I can be patient , but it just seems that he should be further along in his growth!

I think BGKs tend to grow pretty steady through most of their lives unlike other fish who have growth spurts until they reach their adult size and stop.
how long do they even get? dont they only grow like 8"? i have one myself but he was prolly about 4 or 5" when I got him, Id say hes about the same size though too.
thye get to be up to around 20 inchs give or take a few i got mine at 2 inch had him for about 3 months now and he has blown up to be 8-9 inches hes gorgeous and has a funky blueish purple tint, gotta love fish without scales always look real smoth and clean
I have my BGK growing at around .75 inches a month from 3-8inches. Sometimes its the stock (genetics) or sometimes it could have been deprived at your LFS for awhile. What are you feeding it, how often, and are you suure he's eating it?
