Severums are fun. They're not overly aggressive to anyone else. They just have a "pecking order" and the alpha just chases them off if another sev comes too close. It's not a big deal at all. A larger tank would make them even happier.

I would suggest putting in dwarf cichlids or even an elephant nose, they would look pretty cool together

anything around the same size.
DO NOT include any fish that send out electricity signals such as an elephant nose, or even another bgkf.

I keep my 8-9" BGK with aggressive cichlids like cyano, carpintis, red devil(7-8"), convicts, jd's, salvini and gold saum.
it has only been about a month that everyone has been together in the 300 gallon but all seems well the bgk cruzs the tank as it wants ignored by the cichlids, i see it often wandering the tank with the lights on. the only aggression I've seen towards it is when it pokes one of the fish with its tail as it dose its thing and that is just to move it.
before it was in the larger tank it was in a 55 with a jd, convict, salvini and some pictus cats all being grown out with no problems for months.

It would be okay for a long while. I would suggest 75g or larger.

It will be fine in a 55 until it gets over 8-10 they are not very active fish day or night. So as long as you have a cave or some place for him to you'll hardly know hes there. I like that

I got clown loaches, rainbow shark, pleco and latest addition silver dollars - all in 120gallon with a black ghost and all doing well together - even the 3 clowns I added lately which were tiny to start with. Aslo, i had 2 ghosts until lately, they never had a problem with each other - I lost bigger one when electricity cut off for a week when i was abroad, he got breathing troubles first and died a month or so later. Planning to get another 2 small ones, hopefully they won't have problem with the older one already in the tank.
