Black Ghost Knifefish Tankmates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i keep my BGK with 6 discus, a ropefish, 2 young fire eels, 2 red dwarf gouramis, a common pleco and 2 synodontis multipunctatus. also had a pair of bala sharks in there before. he gets along fine with evry fish thats in there or has been in there before. absolutely no problems! and he gets more than his fair share of foods, be it tetra colour granules the discus don't finish or tubifex or bloodworms or shrimp or beef heart or earthworms. as long as he has a place to hide and none of his tankmates are too small or too aggressive he should be fine. also kept a blue botia and clown loaches with him in the past. oh, i have a red tailed black shark in with him as well.

anything around the same size.
DO NOT include any fish that send out electricity signals such as an elephant nose, or even another bgkf.

i should mention i've also heard this but have had green knifefish in the past with a BGK and they got along fine. wouldn't really recommend it just in case though. the interference in their signals apparently is not greatly appreciated so unless its a large tank, i think its a no-no.
