Black Ghost with ICH

First I’ve heard of Epsom salt for ich.
Epsom salt is more for balance and digestion. Ich treatment is aquarium salt ie a small increase in salinity towards brackish although for ich raising the temperature to mid eighties often does the trick itself, after what at first looks like a flurry of dots.
You CAN use malachite green to treat scaleless fish but you have to use it at a much reduced dose. As little as 25-50 % of the stated dosage.
All that said, a healthy, happy fish can often fend off a mild dose of ich itself, so often best not to worry too soon if you see the odd white as spot.
I would not automatically think ich, I must treat it, IF yours was, and I also am not sure it is.
I use epsom salt not for treating ich but because it seems to help in slime formation. The treatment is higher temperatures. I've had bad experiences with malachite green and have lost a couple of catfish to it even at half the dose thus I try to not use it. Feeding some garlic mixed with fish food also helps with ich and internal problems. That's just my experience .

I've personally used table salt for treating a Black Ghost with a fungus on it's tail after it was bitten off by a Polypterus. The dose was very small maybe just a couple of teaspoons in a 20 gallon without any issue. I agree with Fishman Dave Fishman Dave as for treating for ich and what was stated about the flurry of spots. Normally the spots would increase rapidly on the body of the fish and the fins as well. I also agree with 0wen_96 0wen_96 that Black Ghost will sometimes lay on their side. You could turn up the temperature for sure without a issue but make sure aquarium is well aerated. Also never start adding meds until you are absolutely sure the fish is infected or that could actually cause stress.

the name of the medicine , after translating into english shows that it contains malachite green . dont use it for any fish without scales . espically for that bgk. just dont . btw that white spot dosent look like ich to me . but not sure what it is . for ich i first use salt ( in this case would use epsom salt and high temp) , the last resort for me is methylene blue.
more experienced members will help.

Never kept a knife,
but for Ick, I always use a salt solution of 3ppt, 3lbs salt (NaCl)per 100 gallons.
And.....Looking at the pic, I'm not sure it's Ick

Has the spots increased in number since they have show up? Is the bgk acting normal? It’s the right size for ich. Wouldnt use epsom salt for Ich but just plain old salt (nacl). In this case I’d see if water changes, good diet and nitrates down is enough to let these spots pass. If not better or the spots increase in number then I’d suggest what fishman dave have mentioned. Half dose of malachite green. Seachem paragaurd is a bit easier on sensitive fish if u can get ur hands on it IMO.

The spots havent increased yet, and behaviour is as usual. i just know those couple spots werent there before. ill check them out again after work and update if it got better, worse, or same.

Just out of curiosity, how many BGK’s do you have in the same tank, and how many gallons?
I find myself with way too many BGK’s.
there are 4 jeuvaniles in a 50. I know 50 isnt ideal, but i am working on a larger setup about 256g. the plan is to move them into a larger living space once they reach about 7 to 8 in.
