black knife tank mates

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if the blood parrots breed...they can bite but in a weird way. i was bit by one and defintely felt it so a small fish could get hurt. plus my parrot has bit other fish and scales went flying. some parrots are more deformed then others though i guess

If you want to keep cichlids with BGK or AK, try some of the more peaceful species. Severum, Uaru, Some of the earthmovers, etc. I have four African Knives in with Geophagus braziliensis, 6 polypterus, and a bullhead catfish (didn't really have a good tank to put him in) and they do fine together. Since I added the Geo. the knives have actually been more visible. The other fish were so sedate and hid so much it caused to knives to hide as well.

i have a geopahagus, and a electric blue jack dempsey. each about 4 inches and they get along just fine with my 7inch ghost knife. Get a tube it will just push the tankmates away

i wouldnt put those red devils in there, they will be fine for a while until they grow and mature then you can kiss that knife fish goodbye, oscars work fine tho

i just put a CK with my green terrors and oscar, i dont see why not as long as thier all around the same size or smaller then the CK

I think the devils will harass the poor knife fish once they hit cichlid puberty, i would just buy a senegal bichir not too much larger than the knife, or maybe a female green terror if you really want a cichlid.

BP's have to be the ugliest fish I have seen in some time. Hate the things, love knifes though, and Aro's
