what would you have and why?

if you have either colour painted on the backs of your tanks now let me know what you think of it

what would bring out the colours of my central and southern american babies the most you can check out my current fish in preious threads.

doing it tomorro so need replies quick

oh and what type of paint is best? for light reflection etc acrylic?

thanks

I just finished painting a 180g a flat black. I have never done it befor either. It seems like alot of tanks on here have black. I am tring to figure what color substrate to go with. what are you planing?

I have tanks painted dark blue and black. The black definately looks the best. It hides all the algae and crap growing on it and if you place your lighting near the front of the tank, it looks like it is deeper than it is as the light fades towards the rear of the tank.
I just use a latex paint, doesn't really matter if its gloss or flat...
White would not be a good idea, you would see every little bit of stuff stuck or growing on it.

excellent responses so far guys black was always what i was thinking, i think? lol
i have a white backing on my 75 at the mo and i have never really been t happy with the colours the fish display.

anyone got any preference between gloss or matt finish paints?.

I like a matte black finish the best, personally. Gloss just looks a little too unnatural and distracting, whereas matte shifts your focus to the fish instead.

so an acrylic matte black paint will just peel off if needs be?
