Agreed! Traditions are not always a good thing. Some traditions need to be banished and many have been. Heck, slavery was a tradition to white, Southern farmers. I take that back. Slavery was an American tradition. As we progress as a human race, we see the error of our ways and we make the appropriate adjustments. Black Peter seems a bit odd to me. I don't get it. Maybe it's time for Black Peter to be put to rest. I could be wrong. Maybe I need to re-examine Black Peter. But, I'm one who feels that if some groups are offended by something, then maybe that something needs to be reviewed and examined. That's why I feel that Washington needs to remove the Redskin name from their team.

There's something funny in all kinds of humor but I really don't care for racial humor and I'm not a big fan of the Wayans brothers but that kind of material is their mainstay....I did see the movie and about the only part that I enjoyed was the scene with the bald guy in the club dancing.
I just thought about something . . . Iv'e always thought of Europe being a bit more liberal when it came to sex, race and some. I just remembered the issues that come up at European soccer games, in some cases where there are black players on the field. We've heard about the bananas being thrown on to the field . . . Hmmm . . . Maybe racism is something that is ever present in all societies.
I feel that reverse racism isn't fair, either. I thought that movie was full of stereotypes. All white girls, don't act like California airheads. Plus, it was a poorly-done movie. There was no intellectual value to it. We have a right to demand that from all movies, even comedies.

i think you're pointing out what lep was trying to point out, it was reverse racism at it's finest, a modern day minstrel show and those who are offended by blackface didn't raise their voice against it...only that it was a terrible move. if it were done well, would they have liked it?
