they are tropical fish and thrive best at certain ideal water temperature (usually 78-82F).
I don't think anyone keeps their home constantly at 78-82F, it would be too hot for human to feel comfortable, at least I won't.
normally we feel comfortable around 72F, give or take a few deg depends on person to person and that would be a bit cooler for tropical fish, they don't die from that temperature but usually will be less active and grow slower. and air temperature could be different than water temperature.
I prefer my house at 68 JP so you are wrong :ROFL::ROFL:

I did say give or take few degrees from 72F so your 68F is covered :headbang2
unless you mean 68C then that's a different story.

lol my house is at 68 right now as well but i would like it at 72 but my dad insists 72 is too warm so i ask him "are you a damn polar bear ? " my mom would have it at 80 degrees if it was up to her though lol.

anyway back on topic

anywhere from 76-82 degrees(farenheit of course) is the comfortable (and natural) range for piranhas. I try to stay away from extremes and i keep mine right in the middle at 79.
