Black rays...who is buying one when/if they land?

I can probably have 100 marbles within a week or 2 that would cost me 65-100 landed in the USA. I dont understand your last post.

While I agree Asian Aros should have high prices, I disagree with all the people who can justify the 2k dollar plus prices for rays..or Flower horns .....your buying hype not a ray.........

So now people are justifying the price with a breeding? Do you know how long it takes to get a wc ray to breed in captivity?

Its not hard to breed rays all you need are acclimated ADULT RAYS. A female leo takes a long time until she is ready to breed.

It was just a year or so ago that most people said the ban wouldnt be lifted.. yet here we are today.... lets talk again in another year or 2....

ps you guys do realize that people in Brazil will export black rays as motoros dont you.... third world countries are very corrupt....

I would bet double the alotted amount actually get shipped out....

people have been moaning about the price of black rays for years now

if they had put a few $$$$ away each week in their piggy banks to save for something they wanted bad enough most of the people who moan about price would have had their black rays and probably bred from them by now

rather than spend $1500 on a black ray that will pay for its self once they bred people just love to moan about the old days

i know 100% for sure that if i didn't have any black rays and wanted them that bad i would find the money from some were

Low prices are pipe dreams just look at prices of marbles etc.

I am not looking for low prices. To be honest, I am looking to see some of the big players from our side enriching their gene pool. I won't be able to get into this seriously until I am done with vet school ...nevertheless the black ray subject will always be a hot topic.

your right it does take wild caught rays longer to breed in captivity which is more the reason to buy captive bred rays

i you saved the money and got a captive bred pair of what ever rays you want you could have pups within 2yrs less for motoro

your right again rays are not hard to breed at all you just need to take care of the tank and it will happen nothing more needed just good water and good food

as it stands now if you spend $3000 on a pair of captive bred rays you will get to watch them grow and breed within 3yrs and probably get a percentage of you original investment back

for me wild caught rays should only go to breeders who breed on a large scale to increase the gene pool hobbyists should stick with captive bred rays

If anyone here does not think a study of the past predicts the future is a fool. We are still the same consumers, and basically the markets ebb and flow but all the same components are in the mix. Learn with your mind, not with your mouth.

i dont think you will get that many importers bring in rays now as they cant make the massive mark up they used to

if ray imports stick the same mark up on rays they used to you will be looking at paying $3000 each for them

I dont deal in fish anymore because I dont want to deal in fish anymore... I am not jealous of anyone. To be honest I do not need the hassle of dealing with internet fish people and all that accompanies it. I stopped dealing with rays before the ban was inacted because I didnt enjoy it anymore. I was not a failure at it like yourself. Why dont you tell everyone here how you used to try selling rays and fish on a preorder basis and how you and your business partner couldnt fulfill the orders and than subsequently couldnt refund their money.......how many people did you rip off? how many people didnt get their money? why were u banned from selling on WW.com?

That would make an interesting story.

as far as Dave Webber goes everyone knows I am not a fan of his however as ironic as it is I wish he was still a member of this board because he certainly could add some substance and truths to this thread.

again Ill say what I said in the other post where you tried to bash me.... add something intelligent to this thread or add nothing,,, you are just posting inflammatory remarks to get me going.
