& thanks for confirming that him eating is a positive sign for my tank being stable. Also guessing it's a sign of good health that he ate so quickly. In fact he's eaten a 2nd platy so he is consistently eating.

Can't wait to try tilapia tonight!

Possibly heater burn.

He did hug the heater when I first put him in

Water tested 0 for ammonia and 0 nitrite plus I'm dosing prime

Hes still eating so I guess I should just observe and wait for it to heal? How long would you expect it to take? A few days or a week or 2?
